Two days of PI Planning, one clean write-up
PI Planning ends with objectives on slides, risks on stickies, dependencies in five different note files, and someone owing the ART a write-up by Friday. Khint keeps AI one shortcut away through the whole event: capture the board, turn breakout notes into objectives and tickets, and log it all into one work session that ends as a paste-ready recap.
The planning is done in two days.
The write-up takes a week.
A regular sprint planning produces one team's tickets; PI Planning produces a quarter's worth of commitments for several teams at once, and almost none of it is born digital and structured. Team objectives get drafted in breakout rooms, risks get ROAMed on a wall, dependencies get promised verbally and scribbled down. Whoever owns the write-up spends the following days transcribing photos, deciphering notes, and re-typing the same content into Jira and Confluence. Khint attacks exactly that gap: the text already exists, it just needs to be extracted, shaped, and filed, and each of those is one keystroke away instead of another evening of copy-paste.
One tool through the whole event
Session on, capture, shape, push: then a recap that is already written.
Start one Memory session for the whole event
Before the day-one kickoff, start a Memorysession named after the event: “PI Planning Q3”. For the next two days, every action you run, every capture, and every ticket you create through Khint logs into it, and Khint keeps a compacted running summary. The session lives in a local database on your machine; it is your event log, not a cloud transcript.
Capture the program board and the risk wall
Boards and stickies are where PI Planning outputs go to die. Photograph them as usual, open the photo, and run Extract text from the palette: Capture pulls the text off the image and onto your clipboard. During remote breakouts, capture the shared screen directly. Unsure what a cluster of stickies amounts to? Run Capture & ask and question the screenshot instead.
Turn breakout notes into objectives, risks, and stories
In Agents, save the Actions this event always needs: distill a paragraph of breakout notes into an uncommitted-vs-committed PI objective, sort raw risk notes into ROAM buckets, split a feature into stories with acceptance criteria. Write each prompt once (or type a description and press Generate), then run them all week from Cmd+Shift+K on whatever text you have selected.
Push the results where the ART works
Connect Atlassian on the MCP page and the palette gains write rows: Create issue files the stories and the risks that need owners into Jira, Create page publishes the PI summary to Confluence, and Append to page adds day-two corrections without touching the rest of the page. Every write previews the content behind a confirm button first.
Close day two with a recap that wrote itself
Because the whole event ran inside one session, day-two drafts made with session-context Actions already account for day-one decisions. When the event ends, hit Copy recap on the session: the summary plus every logged entry lands on your clipboard as paste-ready markdown, ready for the readout email or the follow-up page. End the session and your next sprint starts from a clean slate.
Why not just record the whole event?
A recording of a two-day, multi-room event is an archive, not an output: nobody replays sixteen hours to find the moment a dependency was agreed. PI Planning's real outputs are short, structured artifacts (objectives, ROAMed risks, stories, a summary page), and those come from the notes and boards the rooms already produce. Khint works on that layer. It never listens or records; it acts only on text you explicitly select or capture, shapes it with Actions you wrote yourself, and files it where the ART already works. If your regular, single-team ceremony is the thing you want to speed up, start with sprint planning notes instead; and for the board-photo half of the problem on ordinary days, there is whiteboard photo to requirements.
Common questions
What does Khint actually do during PI Planning?
It handles the writing, not the planning. PI Planning produces a pile of half-structured text: breakout notes, draft objectives, risk stickies, dependency lists. Khint lets you select any chunk of that text in whatever app it lives in, hit one shortcut (Cmd+Shift+K), and run a saved AI Action on it: tighten a draft into a clear PI objective, sort raw risk notes into ROAM categories, split a feature into stories. The teams still make every scope, capacity, and priority call; Khint turns what they said into something you can publish.
Can it read the physical program board?
Via a capture of your screen. Photograph the board or the risk wall as you normally would, open the photo on your machine, then run Extract text from the Khint palette and drag a region over it: the text lands on your clipboard, ready to be cleaned up with an Action. The same capture works on a shared screen during remote breakouts. Recognition of dense handwriting has limits, so treat the extraction as a fast first draft and skim it against the photo before you push anything to Jira.
How does a two-day event fit into Khint's Memory?
Start one work session named after the event, for example PI Planning Q3, and leave it active for both days. Every action you run, every capture, and every ticket or page you create through Khint is logged into that session, and Khint maintains a compacted summary of it. Actions you have opted into session context then see that summary, so a day-two draft can account for what was decided on day one. Sessions stay in a local database on your machine, and when it is over, Copy recap gives you the whole event as paste-ready markdown.
Can it push objectives and risks into Jira and Confluence?
Yes, once you connect Atlassian with your own API token on the MCP page. The palette then offers Jira rows (create issue, add comment, change status) and Confluence rows (create page, append to a page, comment). Create flows let an Action draft the content first or use your text as-is, and every write shows you a preview behind an explicit confirm button before anything is created, so nothing lands in your tracker unreviewed.
